AUTISM & ADHD ASSESSMENTS
IT'S NOT ABOUT IF... BUT HOW!
Blackstone Therapy offers assessment for adults who think they may have ADHD, be Autistic, or have both.
Our assessment process is designed to not only to determine IF you are neurodivergent, but HOW these conditions impact and affect you. Neurodiversity, whether Autism, ADHD, or both (AuDHD) lies on a spectrum, meaning that each person presents differently from the next depending on your genes, brain development, support systems, and more. Being a late diagnosed adult with ADHD, ASD, or AuDHD means that we have more chances for imposter syndrome to kick in and say, "your faking", or "it's not bad", or "you don't look Autistic", or "everyone struggles with feeling like they belong". This is why it is so important when being diagnosed to learn about the how and why, as it applies to you.
THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS
Our assessment process includes three phases. Every individual starts at Phase 1, regardless of your current diagnosis & condition(s). If you are uncertain what option is best for you, reach out to us and we'll be happy to answer any questions you have!
PHASE 1 - SCREENING
$150 - $225
The first phase of the process is neurodivergent screening, which gives an indication if you are likely to be Autistic, have ADHD, or both. This will help us (and you) to determine if the bigger assessment is appropriate and to custom tailor your experiences with us.

Detailed history questionnaire, covering medical, mental health, family, relationship, and work/education

15+ questions targeted specifically at various Autism & ADHD traits

2+ evidence-based psychometric assessments that screen for neurodivergent traits

6+ page report reviewing your data & how it aligns/does not align with ADHD, Autism, or both.

PHASE 2 - DIAGNOSIS
$1575 - $3000
The second phase of the process is the diagnostic assessment, resulting in a diagnostic report (50+ pages), diagnosis letter for future healthcare providers, and a formal diagnosis. During this phase, you’ll complete a series of self-report assessments across a wide range of categories as we look at common misdiagnosed conditions to help rule out possibilities. You’ll meet one-on-one with our assessing clinician to complete a formal interview and to walk you through, step by step, the results of your assessment.

PHASE 3 - PROFILE & SUPPORT
$500 - $1500
The last phase takes a deeper dive into specific challenges, creating more understanding of your neurodivergent
profile. This is where we really get into the heart of understanding HOW you are neurodivergent. We will dive into more information surrounding sensory sensitivities, accommodations for home, work, and/or school, communication skill building, and more. This phase is really custom tailored to you and your needs while adding additional support where you need it most!

Q: DO I HAVE TO DO FORMAL ASSESSMENT?
A: No. Formal assessment is not a requirement for you to consider yourself ADHD, Autistic, or both. Some people are quiet happy with just going through the screening process to confirm their own suspicions. Others may want to go through the formal process because they want to know more about their executive functioning challenges or sensory sensitivities. We fit our assessment to your needs.
Q: WHAT IF IM NOT SURE WHAT IS BEST FOR ME?
A: We have designed our process to start with screening so that we all can get a basic understanding of the challenges you are seeing, if formal assessment is recommended, and to determine if there are other areas of interest to focus in on. If you still are uncertain, we offer a free 15 minute phone/virtual consultation to help you feel more comfortable about the process.
Q: HOW DO I COMPLETE THE ASSESSMENTS?
A: We strongly believe in making this space as comfortable for you, regardless of your life circumstances. Every phase of the process you can complete either virtually or in our Fitchburg, Wisconsin office. Additionally, you can choose to complete the assessments on your own through an online form or with the assistance of one of our clinicians, ensuring you have the support level you feel you need.
Q: DO YOU DO ASSESSMENTS OUTSIDE OF WISCONSIN?
A: For the screening process, you can be from anywhere within the US. If you chose to move forward with formal diagnoses, all individuals must reside in Wisconsin due to state & federal laws. Individuals who reside outside the USA may still move forward with the assessment process.
Q: DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
A: No. Blackstone Therapy does not offer direct billing or communication with insurance providers. If you wish to see if our assessments will be covered, you need to reach out to your insurance provider and follow their policies on reimbursement.
Q: WHY ARE ASSESSMENTS SO EXPENSIVE?
A: The price of assessments include not only the cost of the individual assessments given, but also covers time for reading, interpreting, report writing, and individual sessions with you. Because of the complexity of Autism & ADHD on adults, it is important for us to take extra care and time to ensure that the symptoms we are seeing are a result of Autism/ADHD and not another diagnosis masking itself as Autism/ADHD. We did our best to provide as low of cost option while not sacrificing quality.
Q: DO YOU HAVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OR PAYMENT PLANS?
A: Unfortunately, at this time we do not. However, we are considering this in the future.
