Effective March 27th, 2020, ForwardHealth Wisconsin including Quartz HMO, now allows for online and phone therapy. Wonderfully, this is a permanent change, and will not go away after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Blackstone Therapy continues to offer therapy online and over the phone. I believe that counseling should be accessible to everyone regardless of ability or transportation. I'm committed to providing quality, evidence-based care for you and your family.
So, this is covered by insurance?
Yes, ForwardHealth (non-HMO) and ForwardHealth Quartz now fully cover teletherapy services.
I don't have insurance or insurance you take - can you still help me?
Absolutely. I provide services on a sliding-fee scale designed to meet your needs. You can ask me about this in our consultation meeting. My fees are transparent.
How does teletherapy work?
It is a straight-forward process. I send a link to you (by text or email), you click on the link. This takes you my teletherapy software through Theranest. There are, generally, no apps to download. You can use a computer or mobile device. Of course, an internet connection is required.
Will it be weird?
Maybe at first. In this time of social distancing and quarantine it might be more 'normal' than we all think. When I think about it, I'm more focused on if I can help you - and I can. Teletherapy works surprisingly well as a alternative to in-person counseling.
I'm interested, how can I contact you for more information?
I believe in the power of counseling to improve the lives of everyday people. I also believe that care needs to be made accessible.
